You are thirteen months old now and really have a lot to say!! New words seem to pop out of your mouth on a daily basis. Many of them only make sense to you though, but with practice you sometimes say a new word that does! Apple, bear, toes, cheese, gentle and pretty are a few of the newest ones that we can actually understand. You say Thank You quite often and on your own at appropriate times now, which is really neat! You still have a great love of books and when mommy counts the doggies in the book you 'count along' in your baby language. You also say 'woof woof' to them as well. You love to go for walks and explore the world, and pick up different treasures along the way. Your favourites being either a small stick or a pine cone. We take you to the park and your favourite thing to do still is to go on the swing. A sure way to get a great big smile out of you. Silly things make you laugh now, like wiggling a teddy bear near your face and making funny sounds seems rather hilarious to you. You love to turn things off and on, like light switches and the TV. You are still learning the word no and often when we say that dreaded word, you laugh and run away. You had your first time out this month, and had to spend one minute in the pink chair for repeated hitting one of Angela's friends. You were not being very gentle at all. You like to let us know when you want something with what Daddy calls your fake cry. You make this cry sound when you want something either you cant reach, or not allowed to have. Its cute, but getting rather old!! You still like to make funny faces at yourself in a mirror and sometimes fight us when we put you in the stroller as you would much rather walk, then ride. Who could blame you when there is so much to see in the world. You run to the window and mommy will lift you up so you can see the garbage truck lift the big containers to empty them. This is very facinating to you and wave bye to the truck when it leaves.
Grandma and Grandpa found you a toy box to hold all your toys and it helps to have a cleaner living room. Its a neat game for you to pick up the toys and toss them into it, but much more fun to empty it. You love all foods except ketchup and only have two bottles a day now. We took the night time bottle away and you dont seem to notice. You like your cup with the straw much better than the sippy cups though, and also can say 'ba ba' for bottle.
You discovered your bedroom now, and we can safely allow you to play in it as mommy baby proofed it for you. We bought you a kitchen set which you like to play with by opening and closing the doors. Not quite a chef yet, but you dont have a frying pan, or play food either. Something to think about for Christmas presents this year.
